Scarborough Slams Andrew Cuomo: His Campaign ‘Was Pathetic, He Did Nothing’

‘There is a general feeling that that this move by Andrew Cuomo guarantees that the independent vote is split and the democratic socialists will become the next mayor of New York’

EXCERPT:

LEMIRE: “Now, Cuomo has also floated an idea that if by mid-September, he has signed on to some pledge in calling for Adams and the Republican candidate, other — potentially any other independents to do the same, that they coalesce around one person then, that basically whoever has the highest poll numbers in the non-Mamdani category, that that person should be the alternative and everyone else should drop out and support that person, whoever it is. Cuomo of course, betting that it’s himself. We’ll see. No one else has agreed to that. There are some people who wonder if Cuomo himself will follow through, but that’s where things stand at the moment. But we should just note, Joe, to your point. I mean, Andrew Cuomo ran a lackluster campaign to this point.
SCARBOROUGH: "It was pathetic. It was pathetic. He did nothing."
LEMIRE: "Insulting to the word 'lackluster.' Yeah, I mean, pathetic, lackluster, use it. He seemed like he didn’t want to do it. And there’s always been questions as to whether he even really wants this job. People around him say his eyes really are at the governor’s mansion again, at some point. He feels like he was unjustly thrown out.”
