MSNBC’s Zadrozny: RFK Jr. Has ‘Demolished’ Public Health ‘Swiftly’ and ‘So Well’
EXCERPT:
ZADROZNY: “So he brought his anti-vaxxers and then he brought this new coalition of mostly people coming out of the -- coming out of the pandemic, who were Republicans, who were also dissatisfied with the status quo in terms of our health. And that coalition has been really, really helpful for him. And because he was giving Trump this group of — this bloc, his base, he got this great appointment as health secretary. I could not believe that he got the health secretary appointment, but he did. And he has spent the last several months since secretary demolishing public health in a way that I actually didn’t expect he’d be able to do so swiftly and so well. And so now we’re in this moment where we have the worst measles outbreak since 1993. We are learning nothing from this measles outbreak as we have in the past. There is a crumbled public health institution that’s able to do anything about this. And there is vaccine hesitancy that is so great that we have continued pockets of hesitancy all over the country. So the next outbreak could happen wherever. And things are just really, really terrible."
