LAWLER: "Look, we’ve already seen an out-migration among businesses, especially Wall Street, over the last few years, in large measure because of New York’s highest-in-the-nation tax burden, burdensome regulations, and, frankly, declining quality of life with the rising crime, the migrant crisis. Now you add in this combination with somebody who decries capitalism — meanwhile, by the way, he is a trust fund baby. His mother was a Hollywood producer, so you can't even make this up. But the fact is, New York is the financial capital of the world. We didn’t build those buildings through socialism or communism. They got built through capitalism, they got built through investment and by other countries wanting to invest in the U.S., by companies around the United States coming to New York and wanting to build and expand. And we’re seeing it crumble before our very eyes because of the policies that have been enacted. And Zohran Mamdani will lead to the downfall of New York if he’s elected mayor."
