JOHNSON: “I don't want to say that I don't have any concerns. There is no such thing as a perfect bill. But I would tell you, the fear mongering has really been over the top. And we heard the same sort of thing 30 and 40 years ago when work requirements were put into place on TANF and on food stamps. The amazing thing is, every single time we have a farm bill, overwhelmingly, Democrats and Republicans together continue those work requirements, and in the Fiscal Responsibility Act just two years ago, we came together in a bipartisan way and enhanced those work requirements. It's kind of amazing, maybe, that those work requirements the Democrats voted for weren't evil, but these are.”
