Ted Cruz: No Sanctions Relief for Iran Until They Change Their Conduct

CRUZ: “You know, many of the isolationist voices who were telling President Trump, 'Do not support Israel, do not take out Iran’s nuclear weapons capability,' they said World War III was going to result, thousands of Americans were going to die. In fact, they even said America would lose that war. We now know every one of their predictions were wildly wrong. Those same voices are saying, 'Well, okay, now that we’ve taken out their nuclear weapons capability, we should lift sanctions on Iran. We should let billions of dollars flow into Iran.' That is a terrible idea. Understand, Iran has been waging war with Israel and waging war with America for more than 40 years, and we should not allow any sanctions relief unless and until they change their conduct. What does change their conduct mean? It means, number one, stop chanting 'Death to America' and 'Death to Israel.' Number two, stop funding Hamas and Hezbollah. Number three, dismantle every centrifuge. We blew most of them up, but have zero centrifuges, zero enrichment. Number four, acknowledge Israel’s right to exist. And number five, stop trying to murder Americans like Donald J. Trump. Iran has hired hitmen trying to murder the president of the United States. As long as they are waging war against us, we should not make the mistakes of Joe Biden and the Democrats and flow billions of dollars to enable them to carry out that war."
