MAMDANI: "When we began this campaign, the whole idea of us being able to win the Democratic nomination was considered to be a non-starter. And I think in the same way that we’ve built such a mandate to deliver a truly affordable city in what is currently the most expensive city in the United States is how we continue to build that support. And we’ve seen in Albany that these ideas of taxing the 1% and the most profitable corporations to fund a more affordable life for all are things that actually have quite a bit of support within the legislature. And I think ultimately, what unites the governor and my vision is this focus on affordability, and I’m very excited to work with her on that."
