Sen. Murphy; Trump Told the Country That Iran Nuclear Capabilities Was ‘Obliterated’ and It Was Not
RUSH EXCERPT:
MURPHY: "What President Trump told the country is that the Iran nuclear capability was obliterated and it was not, in fact, the international atomic nuclear energy commission just confirmed we only set the program back by a handful of months, we were at the negotiating table trying to come to a diplomatic agreement, I would not have authorized a strike literally in the moment we were sitting down with the Iranians trying to come to a peaceful settlement. The only way you’re going to stop Iran from getting a nuclear weapon is an agreement because open reporting has suggested, the strikes did not destroy all of the uranium, and it certainly did not destroy their knowledge. So there is a reason they could reconstitute their nuclear program within months and what are we going to do? We are going to carry out these massive $100 million strikes every three or four months? No, you need a diplomatic agreement and the strikes set back those."
