David Sanger: The U.S. Assessment Is Iran Can Put a Nuclear Weapon Together in a Year or So

‘In January, we reported that the Iranians were looking at a faster, cruder way to do this’

EXCERPT:

SANGER: “The U.S. assessment is a year or more to put the weapon together. In January, we reported that the Iranians were looking at a faster, cruder way to do this. In other words, make a crude bomb that probably wouldn't fit on a missile, but you could use in some way, and that that might be six, seven, eight, months. I'm not sure where the press secretary got her numbers here, but I don't think they match up with what's in U.S. intelligence.”
