Alex Padilla to Republican Officials on Defending the Constitution: ‘Are You Going to Do it or Not?’
EXCERPT:
PADILLA: "There’s been a lot of reasons to be concerned about the judiciary. But even at district court levels, he’s losing a whole lot of federal cases. And in some cases they’re appealing, in some cases they’re just ignoring and continuing to not comply. And so while we work to buttress the judiciary, to rein that in -- again, it’s not that complicated. There’s another co-equal branch of government in the U.S. Capitol, it’s called Congress, happens to be Republican majority. At the time, they swore an oath to become a House representative in the House, or a senator, to defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Are you going to do it or not? What’s it going to take? When is enough enough? When is too much too much?"
