NBC’s Kube: The U.S. Has Interceptors Inside Israel, Used as Part of a Defensive Action
RUSH EXCERPT:
KUBE: "Okay, so last night, the same time when all of this was just starting to unfold, U.S. Officials were telling us emphatically that the us had no role in the Israeli strikes on Iran, which turned out to be much bigger and more extensive than we initially thought they would be. So the us was not helping them with the bombing, not doing aerial refueling, no kind of support with intelligence, nothing like that. For this specific what we now know is called operation rising lion. Well, fast forward to today when Iran retaliated. the United States has a series of ground based interceptors inside Israel and in the region, the two main ones that they used as part of this defensive action today was the fad and the patriot. Those are specifically good at taking out different ranges of missiles, but that was what they were fixed on today because, as you mentioned, Iran lobbed a huge volley of missiles towards Israel today. But there are two other options that the us still could use if this back and forth continues, and they’re called in again to help defend Israel, their sea based. That’s maritime assets that are that have ballistic missile defenses on them. And then there’s air assets. So airstrikes or excuse me, fighter jets. We saw that when Iran, one of the times that the Iranians launched a bunch of drones, the us put aircraft up and shot a bunch of them down. Chris."
