VA Sec. Doug Collins: President Trump Was Elected Exactly for What the Big, Beautiful Bill Is Doing

COLLINS: "Well, look, being on Capitol Hill for eight years and now being in the administration, as well as being in this town for a long time, this is exactly what you expect in something like this. Everybody has their angle, everybody has their opinion, except there’s one thing that really matters most and that's President Trump. President Trump was elected to do exactly what they’re doing right now in this big, beautiful bill. He was elected to make the changes, to make tax cuts permanent, to take the tax on tips off, to do these kind of things that actually make a difference in people’s paychecks. That’s why people trusted him. That’s why people are still trusting him to do this. And I think the Hill will do what they need to do. I respect the Hill, got a lot of good friends on both sides of the aisle, both sides of the Senate and the House, but they, at the end of the day, they've got to realize that this is about coming together for the American people and finding the best possible solution to get 218 votes and get to 51 votes in the Senate to make this happen. This is important. And yes, there’s a lot of equities here, and things can’t be always finished overnight, but with this bill and President Trump’s backing, this is good for the American people."
