Speaker Johnson on Medicaid: When Able-Bodied Young Men Work, It’s Good for Their Dignity and Purpose

‘If you can’t find a job, volunteer and that’s a basic, minimal standard’

RUSH EXCERPT:
JOHNSON: "This is a very important distinction. Those 4.8 million people will not lose Medicaid unless they choose to do so. I will go into any town hall in America and explain this and people will say oh , this make sense. You will require the ablebodied to only volunteer 20 hours a week and that’s too cumbersome? The American people are not buying it. This is a new requirement and it should have been put in a long time ago. They will lose coverage because they can’t full fill paperwork? It follows common sense. When ablebodied young men work, it’s good for them and their dignity and purpose and good for the community. If you can’t find a job, volunteer and that’s a basic, minimal standard."
