Michael Steele: How Could Trump Be Such a Populist While ‘Deconstructing’ His Voter’s Health Care?

‘So my question is, how come that resonates with the poorest of the poor’

RUSH EXCERPT:

STEELE: “This is the thing that I think drives me a lot nuts, Reid, is the fact that you and you started with this idea, you know, you go through the ages and these words become euphemisms for race and other things that, that, that they want to touch on without touching on. You have this, this notion that this president is somehow this great populist, that Donald Trump is a man of the people as he sits on his gold toilet. So my question is, how come that that resonates with the poorest of the poor and the people who, as we’ve all discussed in this conversation, are the ones who are going to be directly impacted. They’re the ones the people in Mike Johnson’s district, as Joel pointed out, are the largest group of folks who are going to see a direct impact here. What what is the disconnect? How can how can this man be such a populist? At the same time, he’s looked to deconstructing their health care, their economic opportunity, etc.”
