Fox News: Two Israeli Embassy Staffers Were Shot Outside DC Jewish Museum
EXCERPT:
MEREDITH: “Well, we’ve heard from the Washington field office, which says right now that they don’t believe there’s an ongoing threat. Not an ongoing threat to public safety, so an indication that the investigators know who did this and that’s likely what the information that they will have to provide, at least an update about who may be in custody. We may not get a name, but at least give an idea of the events that transpired. To give you an idea how much this story is reverberating across Washington, we’ve heard that the secretary of Homeland Security is well aware of what’s going on. And on the ground outside the shooting scene at the Jewish Museum is the attorney general, as well as the new U.S. attorney here for D.C., Jeanine Pirro, our former Fox News colleague, who is now in that post. We also know that Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer is aware of what’s going on. He says he’s monitoring the shooting and he says, 'It’s another horrific instance of anti-Semitism, which we all know is too rampant in our society.' As you would imagine, we’ll be hearing more from Trump administration officials, as well as the Justice Department, about what not only led up to this, but what potential charges may be coming this person’s way. The Israeli embassy here in Washington also put out a statement saying that these two people, staffers of them, which they did not identify them by name, simply said that they were staffers, were shot at close range. And we know, of course, Trace, that two people have lost their lives. When I talked to the police shortly after the shooting happened, they told me an adult male, adult female, and there was little indication that these people were going to be saved. And that was from the investigator that I spoke to pretty quickly who got there.”
