Peter Doocy: One Thing People Ask Me While I Was on the Biden Beat Was ‘Is He OK?’

‘The hardest questions are usually the simplest ones’

EXCERPT:

DOOCY: "But, you know, the hardest questions are usually the simplest ones. And something that I do before I go into these White House briefings, I kind of try to take a poll everywhere I go, at the grocery store, at the airport, and the one thing everybody that I met wanted to know while I was on the Biden beat was, 'Is he okay. I saw this clip, they are saying its a cheap fake. What is going on with this guy?' And, you know, you bring it in, just bring it to the press briefing room, which was usually the only opportunity to get anything on or off the record from this very, very walled-off White House, and you would just ask, 'Hey, why is he saying that he just talked to a dead guy?' or 'Who is going to answer the phone after 8:00 P.M. when he apparently is no longer as sharp as he is in the middle of the day?' And you heard one of the answers from Karine Jean-Pierre there. She said it was a rabbit hole to suggest that the things that we could see with our eyes and hear with our ears were actually a problem. It’s unclear now if that was based on her experience or if that is what she was being told to say, but you can see for yourself how bad it was. I will say that."
