David Hogg: We’re Looking for Generational Leaders that Come from Backgrounds Like Maxwell Frost Has

‘If there’s a candidate who’s running in a purple district, they may be more closer to the center than they are progressive, necessarily’

EXCERPT:

HOGG: “And what I would say we’re looking for more than anything are three things. One, integrity. We will not support candidates who take corporate money. Two, we’re looking for people that are able to get stuff done and also have a core set of values that they are committed to sticking to, even under political pressure, because we see far too many people, not just young, but far too many people of all ages that, you know, will say one thing when they’re running for office, but when they start to face that pressure, change. We’re not looking just to support any young person. We’re looking to support generational leaders that come from organizing backgrounds like Senator Peters does, or people like Congressman Maxwell Frost around the country. And each district, that may look different. If there’s a candidate who’s running in a purple district, they may be more closer to the center than they are progressive, necessarily. But that’s the great thing about our party. We are a bigger tent, and the main things that we’re focused on is making sure that voters across the board know that Democrats are competent and that they have integrity, specifically the ones that we’re looking to support."
