Newt Gingrich: ‘We Don’t Have to Buy from China, but China Does Not Have Any Other Customer that Can Replace Us’
EXCERPT:
GINGRICH: “Well, look, they were already under great pressure because their workforce is starting to shrink with their population policies. They have built a whole bunch of cities that are not sustainable, literally, empty cities. They had followed a policy where local governments made money only by building things. So they kept doing economic deals that were totally unsustainable. So, the debt problem is enormous. And I think they’re about to confront the reality that, you know, we can buy from Vietnam, from India, from Mexico, from Brazil. It’s a big planet. We don’t have to buy from China. But China does not have any other customer that can replace us. And so, I think the economic pressure on them will get bigger and bigger pretty rapidly.”
