APPLEBAUM: "So the tariffs do something very effective? I mean, obviously they create this economic chaos, but they also show what’s wrong with the system. You know there that people can people can understand that Trump has too much power. He’s not supposed to be able to randomly declare tariffs one day and take them back the next day. And actually, it’s in Congress’s power to tax Americans. And tariffs are a tax. And so people so the tariffs are both disruptive economically. But they’re they’re a useful political lesson too I think."
