Baker: Hegseth Ran a Couple Small Veterans Organizations, Those Were Considered To Be Dysfunctional
RUSH EXCERPT:
BAKER: "Well, it’s all of the above, right? I mean, I think that at the moment it’s the things that courtney just outlined. It’s the staffing revolt. Remember his own. Chief spokesman, the person who he paid to speak for him, wrote a piece in Politico saying that he should be fired because, in fact, the Pentagon is in disarray. So, you know, Trump doesn’t like these kinds of headlines. He doesn’t like this kind of perception. He also doesn’t like, though, giving in to what he perceives to be the Washington establishment and getting rid of desks at this point might be seen as an admission that he was wrong to pick him in the first place, because a lot of people warned us that this is exactly what would happen if he became secretary of defense. Remember. He. Had never run anything comparable to the United States military. He’d only made it, I think, to major was never a general. He the he. Ran a. Couple small veterans organizations. Those were widely considered to be dysfunctional. He was pushed out. So, you know, there was a lot of indications that this might not be the best fit. But Trump doesn’t want to admit that if he can avoid it. But obviously, Pete Hegseth is on thin ice at the moment. He’s the cabinet member most vulnerable 100 days in in terms of whether he gets to continue in the job for much longer."
