Hewitt on the Trump Admin Legal Setbacks: Many of Them Are ‘Obviously Political,’ We Have to Wait for SCOTUS to Weigh In
‘I don’t even pay attention to the district court rules anymore’
RUSH EXCERPT:
HEWITT: "Well, I think it goes long into the summer of the Supreme Court may not want to get too far away from the district of Columbia this summer, bret. Normally they leave the beginning of July and they don’t come back until September. I think this summer they are going to have to be prepared for a lot of shadow docket work. The district courts really have sort of let the bit out of their mouth and they are running wild. And I don’t even pay attention to the district court rules anymore. Once it gets to the circuit, because so many of them are are ideological and obviously political we have to wait for the Supreme Court to weigh in. I hope eventually rein in these district court judges."
