Sen. Warren: ‘I’m Actually Very Proud of Harvard’ Standing Up to Trump
‘These are research grants’
EXCERPT:
WARREN: “Look, I’m looking for the off-ramp here for the Trump Administration. People are asking around the country, why are we better off to cut research on cancer, on Alzheimer’s, on tuberculosis? You know, that’s where this money goes. These are — these are research grants, and these are research grants. They weren’t given out politically. They were given out to people who were doing work that helps keep us all safer and healthier. We are not better and stronger because Donald Trump wakes up one day and decides he wants to cut that research. So I think there’s — I’m — I’m actually very proud of Harvard to stand up and say we’re just — we’re not going to do this.”
