Abel Maldonado: ‘When Liberation Day Came, I Thought China Would Be Down by Now’

‘I thought China would be saying, ‘Okay, we‘re negotiating’’

EXCERPT:

MALDONADO: "Both political parties have been spending to no end because none of them can balance the budget, because there‘s three ways to balance the budget: you can raise revenue, you can cut programs or you can borrow. What have the politicians in America been doing? Borrowing, borrowing, borrowing. And now we‘re to this point where I believe President Trump is trying to find the sweet spot on tariffs. Look, when liberation day came, I thought China would be down by now, I really did. I thought China would be saying, 'Okay, we‘re negotiating.' That‘s not happening.”

PHILLIP: "He is not reading China Daily. (Laughs)"

MALDONADO: "As an objective observer, not reading the Daily China — the China Daily, I can tell you that I thought we‘d be done with China by now. We're not."
