FTC Chairman: We Are Already Seeing Improvements in the FCT Under President Trump

FERGUSON: “We’ve seen a pickup in deal activity, especially right at — in February. And, you know, we’ll see if that continues. The FTC is ready for whatever comes. But again, my main goal is regulatory certainty and clarity. If a deal is anti-competitive, we’re going to be honest with the business community and say, look, we’re going to have to go to court on this, and if it’s not, we’re getting out of the way. We’ve granted early terminations of deals to allow them to close early. The previous administration was refusing to do that. We’ve already brought that back. And we’re already seeing improvements in the process at the FTC under President Trump.”
