Pablo Torre on Trump Tariffs: We’re in a Car Driven by Somebody Who Is Blackout Drunk’
‘We gotta get out now’
EXCERPT:
TORRE: “I'm listening and looking for the through line in all of this and all I can think about is how the reason business people got into business with Donald Trump was because there was the presumption of a quid pro quo. Something for something. We give everything on culture, all that stuff, the woke stuff cool, we get money in return. And now as I think about what's inside their heads, I'm just wondering if they have the feeling that I think a lot of Americans have on Main Street and Wall Street, which is that we're in a car driven by somebody who was blackout drunk.”
