Stuart Stevens: I Have Zero Sympathy for My Old Republican Friends Who Are Now Complaining About Trump Tariffs
EXCERPT:
STEVENS: “I think you’re going to see a real split between those that are in swing districts and those that aren’t. And that definition of swing district has just expanded tremendously after what we saw on Tuesday. You had margins cut in half in Florida, in these overwhelmingly Republican districts last November, and you saw what happened in Wisconsin where Trump won in the general and then now this Democrat-favored candidate won the Supreme Court race. You know, I have to say, I have zero sympathy. In fact, I have just absolute scorn for my old Republicans. Some of these people I helped elect. They went out and bought a ton of heroin, started injecting it, and now are complaining that they’re addicted. You know, they brought this on themselves. So, they could stop this. They’re not powerless. They’re actually some of the most powerful people in the world. But they’re afraid.”
