Brenberg: If You’re Not Talking About Greenland Right Now, Economically and Militarily, ‘You’re Missing Almost Everything’

BRENBERG: "America has been in some way serious about it for a long time. You got to have a presence in Greenland he said. That is what we have a presence of Greenland thanks to World War II. But there is so many economic data and strategic military reasons to be there. Economically the northwest wrote that you have has increased shipping volume by 700% over the last 10 years. A lot more stuff going through there. You have a huge military strategic significance. China 10 years ago said we want to be a polar power. Russia already is. The shoreline is Russian shoreline to. These cars these guys are investigate icebreakers. They aren’t waiting back they are talking about Greenland, they are talking about that part of the world where everybody is very close. And so what does it mean in terms of our involvement with Greenland? I don’t know what that partnership will look like that. But if you were not talked about Greenland right now in this global economically and militarily strategically you are missing almost everything. It is the spot that has to be determined from a geopolitical basis."
