Brennan: If the Intelligence Is Compromised Because of the Inexperience of Individuals, ‘It Puts So Much at Risk’
EXCERPT:
BRENNAN: “You’re absolutely right, Symone. Intelligence is the lifeblood of our national security. It allows us to carry out successful operations, whether it be military, diplomatic or intelligence operations. But it also is the intelligence that keeps our sources and methods secure and it protects lives and saves lives. And if that intelligence is compromised because of the inexperience or cavalier attitude of individual, it puts so much at risk, it puts U.S. lives at risk, it puts our national security around the globe at risk, because, again, intelligence is what feeds and fuels our national security apparatus, and it’s clear that the individuals at the very top echelon of our national security infrastructure were not doing what they needed to do. And again, I think there were serious questions that were raised, appropriately, during the whole nomination and confirmation process, but unfortunately, I think we are now seeing the results of this inexperience and the lack of credentials of people.”
