Sen. Sherrod Brown: Many Workers Have Given Up on Buying a House Because of Trump’s Policies

BROWN: “Close to half the workers in this country have held 2 or 3 jobs at the same time over the last 2 or 3 years. Many workers have kind of given up on the thought of buying a house. So we really haven’t dug deeply enough to really understand that. That’s really why workers are so angry. It really is sort of the reason for Trump’s tariffs aimed at not just China that cheats, but aimed all over the world, even to our allies, and it’s why the workers have essentially thrown out each incumbent party in '16 and '20 and '24, because they don’t think politicians are listening, they don’t think the serious people in Washington, the economists are listening. They don’t think journalists are listening to what’s actually happening in their lives. And this institute, I created it. Several people from my old staff have come over that really have expertise in this. And we’re going to focus on — on people’s lives a lot more than statistics and a lot more than what the president says or what a congressman or woman says."
