Symone Sanders Bites Back at Michael Steele Calling Dems’ ‘Oligarchy’ Tour ‘Tone Deaf’ to Middle America: ‘They Launched It in Omaha!’

MSNBC’s Symone Sanders-Townsend objected to her co-host Michael Steele calling an “oligarchy tour” by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) the latest example of Democrats being “tone deaf.”
Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez are headlining a “Fight Oligarchy” tour, which kicked off in Las Vegas this week and is hitting multiple major cities. On Friday, the liberal lawmakers visited Denver, Colorado.
On MSNBC’s The Weekend, Steele praised Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez for taking action, but argued using a term like “oligarchy” is “tone deaf” to middle America.
“The oligarchy tour, I think, kind of misses middle America because, again, Democrats, in my view, being tone deaf from what the American people are saying, you know, folks sitting at the local pub aren’t using the term oligarchy,” he said.
“Okay, wait, but I’m sorry, they’re in middle America,” Sanders-Townsend objected. “He launched a tour in Omaha. They were in Denver.”
