Dem Rep. Suozzi: ‘There Has Been No Negotiation Whatsoever’ on CR

SUOZZI: “If you want to get a deal done, you have to negotiate. And there's been no negotiation whatsoever. This has been a my way or the highway deal since the very beginning. And you know, the Republicans are happy with what DOGE is doing. They're cutting and they're -- they're doing some things that I think are very irresponsible. And I don't think it's smart for us to further empower that effort. We all think that we have to get rid of waste, fraud and abuse. We all think the government could be more efficient. But doing it in this reckless way where you cut people who are responsible for monitoring the nuclear stockpile or cut people who are responsible for monitoring the avian flu, or people responsible for monitoring measles, none of that stuff makes sense. So there's got to be some negotiations between Democrats and Republicans to try and find some common ground to move forward.”
