NBC News: Plane Carrying 10 People Goes Missing in Alaska

GRIFFIN: “And so, you heard it right there. This is still considered a search and rescue mission. They are hoping to find the 10 people on board, hopefully alive, but it’s been several hours, Tom. So, this plane took off from Unalakleet to Nome yesterday afternoon around 2, 2 something in the afternoon. Forty minutes later, that’s when that flight disappeared, that plane disappeared. It was only 10 miles from its intended destination. Now, what caused it to possibly go down? Investigators say they are still trying to figure that out. They are not saying whether — whether pilot error or any other potential malfunction may have contributed, but the NTSB says once they complete this search and rescue mission, that will be the next step to figure out what went wrong.”
