Scott Galloway: MSNBC Is Bending the Knee to Fascism by Not Letting Me Call Trump a Rapist

NYU professor Scott Galloway blasted the media, and particularly MSNBC, for “bending the f**king knee” to fascism and Donald Trump while recounting a recent Morning Joe appearance during which he was corrected for calling the president “a rapist.”

On Friday, during the Pivot with Kara Swisher and Scott Galloway podcast, Galloway said the media is being held to an absurd standard regarding what can and cannot be said about Trump – while Trump says whatever he wants.

Galloway’s complaints followed an ABC News settlement with Trump after network anchor George Stephanopoulos referred to Trump as a rapist last year and Trump sued for defamation. Trump was found civilly liable for sexual abuse in the E. Jean Carroll case and ABC opted not to go to trial with the now-president.

Weeks after the settlement, Galloway was on MNSBC’s Morning Joe when he referred to Trump as “an insurrectionist and a rapist.”

MSNBC’s anchor Mika Brzezinski was quick to offer context to Galloway’s comment when she said, “I want to make a comment about a word that was used in this interview. Donald Trump was tried civilly and was found libel of sexual abuse, not rape. But the judge in the case likened his actions to rape, but the liability was officially called sexual abuse.”
