Paul Ryan Won’t Rule out Accepting GOP Nomination at Contested Convention

‘I think you should run for president if you want to be president’

HARWOOD: "People talk about the prospect of a convention that isn’t decisive. You are suspect number one for --"
RYAN: "I’m going to take a sip of Guinness."
HARWOOD: "-- Who could be drafted. Have you categorically ruled out accepting that if you were asked to do it? If the convention asked you to do it?"
RYAN: "I think you should run for president if you want to be president. I’m not running for president. I made that decision consciously not to. I don’t see that happening, I’m not thinking about it, I’m happy where I am. So no --"
HARWOOD: "Don’t intend to do it. You’re not making a Sherman statement to that."
RYAN: "I haven’t given any thought of this stuff. People say what about the contested convention? I say well, there are a lot of people running for president. We’ll see. Who knows?"
