Richard Haass on Holocaust: It’s Got To Be a Collective Effort to Make Sure That None of This Is Forgotten

‘It’s one of those things that you can never forget’

EXCERPT:

HAASS: “One of the things I've learned is you can't assume anything about history that it's learned, it's taught. And we have to be we have to be intentional about it, whether it's our own history as a country or in this case, about a collective human experience in order to make never again, not just a slogan, but something --"
BRZEZINSKI: "Right."
HAASS: "-- that's real. And we just can't assume anything is transmitted anymore, much less transmitted accurately. So again, my big takeaway from this is intentionality. It's got to be a collective effort to make sure that none of this is ever forgotten or in any way characterized in ways that aren't true."
