Tony Lowden: Jimmy Carter ‘Was All About Serving This Nation All the Way Until the End’
‘It’s not for self, but for country’
EXCERPT:
LOWDEN: “I think the biggest thing that I learned was the fact that it's not for self, but for country. It was all about serving this nation all the way to the end. Every time I would go to visit him he would ask me three -- four questions. Where have you been? What have you done? Who have you helped? And how can I help you help them? And some days when he would have bad days and he wasn't feeling well, he'll just say 'Where have you been?' And I knew that he wants to ask all four questions. So I have to answer all four questions to him. He's one of the greatest servant leaders I've ever met in my entire life.”
