MSNBC Political Analyst on California Wildfires: I Hope Trump ‘Will Find the Grace to Know What the Tone Ought To Be’

‘We’re going to have some real political brawls here’

EXCERPT:

MURPHY: “You know, I’m hopeful, but we’ve all lived through the politics of the last decade or so, which are more corrosive than ever. I think the city is going to pull together here. There’s tremendous frustration and there will be a political impact. There’s a lot of frustration about other quality-of-life issues in Los Angeles, crime, homelessness. So, we’re going to have some real political brawls here. And I think the mayor is going to be in real trouble, Karen Bass, who’s on her way back from a foreign trip right now. But I think the community will pull together, and this is going to be a long March. You know, it’s going to take time to rebuild this stuff. And the fire keeps growing. We’re not out of it yet. So I hope the president in his — president-elect in his new job will find the grace to know what the tone ought to be, which is a bit of a, would be a change for him. But I will hope for the best here because we could use it.”
