Hawaii Gov. Green Says He’s Going to D.C. to Try to Block RFK Jr. From Becoming HHS Secretary
TRANSCRIPT:
GREEN: "Aloha. This Sunday, I’m going to take a quick trip over to Washington D.C. to explain why RFK Jr. concerns me. His appointment to be the head of Health and Human Services is not consistent with safety for our children. He’s against vaccinations. He was against vaccinations in Samoa. We saw what happened there. Kids got measles, died. In our state, we had to lean in with the medical mission, which we did, the 76th of our healthcare providers, back in 2019. But they crashed the vaccinations for that country and we saw what happened. I’m concerned the same would happen across America, but specifically across Hawaii. So, I will be in D.C. meeting with senators and leaders to explain maybe a better place for him to be. It’s not personal. It's not partisan. Of course, he was a Democrat running for president not long ago. But this is a bad idea. So I am always going to fight for safety for our families, and in this particular case that means, as the only physician governor. I need to explain what are good picks and what maybe aren’t so good picks for the cabinet. Aloha and thank you for everyone’s support."
