CBS News: Prosecutor Drops Appeal, Ending Case Against Alec Baldwin in ‘Rust’ Shooting
‘A judge ruled that prosecutors withheld evidence from defense lawyers’

GEORGE: "Alec Baldwin is out from under a cloud of a manslaughter charge in the deadly shooting on the set of his movie 'Rust.' On Monday, prosecutors ended their appeal of a judge who has ordered dismissing the case. The judge had ruled that police and prosecutors withheld evidence from defense lawyers. Baldwin was charged after the prop gun he was holding went off, killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, and injuring director Joel Souza. In a statement to CBS News, his attorney said, 'This was an unspeakable tragedy, but Alec Baldwin committed no crime.' The Hutchins family plans to continue the case with a lawsuit against Baldwin."
