Maher’s Panel Mocks Ellen DeGeneres Leaving the U.S. Following Trump’s Win: ‘I Give It Like Four Months’
EXCERPT:
DEGRASSE TYSON: "Is she really gonna leave?"
MAHER: "Yes, she's already there."
DEGRASSE TYSON: "Where?"
MAHER: "And she announced it. England."
DEGRASSE TYSON: "England? Ooh."
MAHER: "Yeah.
(Laughter)
I don't know."
DEGRASSE TYSON: "I met her mother and I don't think she would've agreed with that. Her mother is very down to earth. Her mother."
SULLIVAN: "She'a always lived in L.A., right? Now she's in the Costwolds?"
DEGRASSE TYSON: "Yeah."
SULLIVAN: "I give it like four months."
(Laughter and Applause)
MAHER: "Why? Is it boring there?"
DEGRASSE TYSON: "And by the way, you heard Fareed Zakaria report that the GDP per capita of the U.K., if It were a state of the United States, would be 51st. So there is very big difference between living in the United States and living anywhere else in the world. So I think she’s overreacting."
