And we are told that this was not a surprise to some people around him, that he has been very close to Bondi for some time. She was a staple in his first administration. Since then, she has taken on many roles MAGA adjacent, including taking over running his super PAC at one point. I do want to read to you part of the statement that he put out about Pam Bondi. He said: ‘I am proud to announce former Attorney General of the great state of Florida, Pam Bondi, as our next Attorney General of the United States.’ Then he goes into her biography saying ‘Pam was a prosecutor for nearly 20 years, where she was very tough on violent criminals and made the streets safe for Florida families. Then, as Florida’s first female attorney general, she worked to stop trafficking of deadly drugs and reduced the tragedy of fentanyl overdose deaths, which have destroyed many families across our country.’”
