Matthew Dowd: ‘Donald Trump Actually Is Not Going to Have Won a Majority of the Vote’ After All Votes Are Counted
EXCERPT:
DOWD: “Very split, as we found out and we’re finding out as the votes are counted. Donald Trump is probably going to have about a 1.5 percent margin of victory as the — as the last of the votes are counted, which is, as you said, one of the most historically slim margins. The same is true in the — in the seven battleground states where his average margin of victory is about the same, 1.5 percent, some even slimmer than that. I mean, I think we keep forgetting, and it’s not just the Republicans, I would say, that are misreading this election, who are claiming a mandate and some big huge thing when it wasn’t, when Donald Trump actually is not going to have won a majority of the vote no matter what they thought the day after Election Day. Also, many Democrats have misread it, who are now cowering, who are now like, what’s happened? What’s going on? What’s — how did we lose? How did we lose so bad to this president?”
