Maria Teresa Kumar: Latino Voters Were ‘Looking for an Economic Message’ Amid Inflation Concerns
‘We have to have a deeper discussion in the Democratic Party’
RUSH EXCERPT:
KUMAR: "We have to have a deeper discussion in the Democratic Party. What I do think we saw was a realignment based on social class and people just not getting by. Every single one of our surveys that we found for the last two and half years, the number one issue in the Latino community was inflation. If you are earning $15 an hour and your eggs cost six dollars that makes a material impact for you. When you are talking about abortion, that was the number two issue, they understood it, they understood that the vice president was very much for abortion, but they were looking for an economic message."
