Ari Melber Loses It When the Guest Tells Him No One Watches the News: ‘Why Did You Take the Booking Then, Rachel?’
EXCERPT:
MELBER: "So where you’re working the numbers that meet messaging is, Biden a lot, Harris a little, argued it’s actually better than you think, and the U.S. economy is 'the envy of the other European nation' and all this other stuff. Is that, in your view, a good message for the Democrats to try to talk people out of what they're feeling?"
BITECOFER: "Yeah, I never saw that in a paid ad. What matters, folks — no one watches cable news, no one watches news news, right?"
MELBER: "Why did you take the booking then, Rachel?"
BITECOFER: "You know, in terms of the overall population, Ari, we’re talking about 10% of the population — "
MELBER: "No, I have to fact check. Millions of people watch all types of news, and then even more on YouTube. So when you say no one, I think you mean undecided, low-information, swing voters. Many people don't, many people do."
