Trump: We Don’t Want a Choker Like Marco Negotiating with Putin or China

KILMEADE: “Yeah. It’s amazing because the president feels like that was a big victory. I want to talk about something that happened over the weekend. I watched a lot of your events and when democrats see you on television, they stop and watch because not only are the crowds big but it’s always raucous. You put on a bit of a show. Here Marco Rubio came up and sweating was important. Now I want you to hear this played back, and we put it to the dial test to see how Republicans — see our Republicans in red and independents in yellow and democrats respond to it.”

TRUMP: “Marco was standing next to me during the debate, and Chris went to him. I thought it was OK. He mentioned the Obama phrase, once. Then he mentioned it a second time. I said, that’s strange. Then I noticed he was like pouring water. He was sweating — I have never seen anything like it. I thought he just got out of a swimming pool with a suit on. I thought what’s going on and I hope he’s OK.”

DOOCY: “We ran the dials with Lee Carter. The people who saw it, they gave you a D, however, when you were going after little Marco Rubio as you said earlier, just about 90 seconds ago, that one actually got an A-minus.”
TRUMP: “It’s funny because we had 35,000 people in that crowd. It was incredible. It was in Alabama. And it was like an incredible crowd. They loved it. All I was pointing out was when Chris Christie who endorsed me when he went after Marco, Marco choked. He choked. He was unable to speak. I don’t know what happened. We don’t want that negotiating with Putin or with China.”
DOOCY: “Insults from Marco Rubio as well, I saw somebody had blogged with a morning consult poll it looks like Rubio’s strategy of going after you may have backfired. He lost of his support over the weekend. He went from 19 to 14. You actually according to the morning consult climbed from 33 to 42%. I guess people are used to Donald Trump being Donald Trump.”
TRUMP: “Well, I think also it’s not who he is. I didn’t like it. I was getting along with him very well. Then all of a sudden, you know, he was told to do this by his supporters I guess. But all of a sudden, he became Don Rickles. He’s not Don Rickles. Not going to happen. So you know the fact that he went down, I’m not that surprised to see it. But the fact that he went down, he just wasn’t who he was. “
