Milbank: Trump Has ‘Killed Satire,’ ‘How Can You Improve on the Stuff that He Says?’

MILBANK: "Yeah, it’s cringe theater from beginning to end. And, you know, the real problem I think we have here is, you know, Donald Trump, in addition to killing democracy and the truth and decency, all that, has killed satire. Because how can you improve on the stuff that he says? I love 'SNL' and I think this is a terrific segment, but I have had a lot of difficulty covering him because basically, I mean, come on, 'They’re eating the cats, they’re eating the dogs.' 'I have the concept of a plan.' He reads this long soliloquy about how he’s going to protect the women. You know, how can you improve upon this satirically? He is a one-man walking satire."
