Trump: ‘I Will Focus’ on Taking out Cruz in Texas

‘I have nothing to lose’

KILMEADE: “You’ve got to bring it to something else in Texas. Texas is the only state that you’re trailing right now on the polls and they have been pretty accurate outside of Iowa. And Ted Cruz has a thirty — on the RealClear average, 37-29. Will you double down in Texas to try to knock him out?”
TRUMP: “Maybe, I think I’ll. You know, I do very well in Texas. I have tremendous friendships in Texas and Ted is the sitting senator there. But, we have a sitting senator in Florida and I’m number one by far in Florida.”
DOOCY: “Right.”
TRUMP: “And as you know, the governor of Ohio — I’m number one in Ohio. That came out yesterday and people were really quite surprised. But, very substantially number one in Ohio. So when you look at Ohio and you look at Florida, now the only one I have to do is Texas and I will focus on that. I’m very close. I mean it’s a very close.”
DOOCY: “Sure.”
TRUMP: “I don’t know the accuracy of these polls, but — it was very close.”
KILMEADE: “Do you believe it’s a knockout? Does Ted Cruz get knocked out if you beat him in Texas?”
TRUMP: “Well, I think I have nothing to do lose. And i think that — yes, if he loses Texas or if Marco loses Florida, you know, I think if Kasich loses Ohio certainly that would not be awe inspiring for them.”
