Tim Miller on Trump Assassination Attempts: I Don’t Remember Gerald Ford ‘Going on National News and Trying to Fan the Flames and Blame the Other Side’
EXCERPT:
MILLER: “Obviously, nobody wants political violence. We’re been deeply concerned, it was a horrible situation yesterday on that golf course. But to respond to that by pointing fingers, by instigating more. You know, and Gerald Ford had two assassination attempts against him in September, in one month. You know, I don’t remember him going on national news and trying to, you know, fan the flames and blame the other side. Reagan didn’t after he was shot. Kennedy didn’t — you can go down the whole list. There’s no other politician would ever do this because it’s so irresponsible and that’s immediately what J.D. Vance has gone to after both of these horrific incidents, is trying to point the fingers, fan the flames more and play that and be aggrieved. And I just think that contrast with that versus what you saw from the Vice President, I just — as you said, it’s a very, very strong belief.”
