Heritage’s Frederick: Elon Musk Has Broken the Leftist Ideological Monopoly of Major Big Tech Companies

‘He says free speech is a bedrock of democracy’

EXCERPT:

FREDERICK: "You know, I mean, again, Big Tech companies have weaseled out of this due to the Communications Decency Act, Section 230, where in 1996, they basically had this statute that's protecting tech companies from civil liability for third-party content that's hosted on their platform, so they've used this to get out. So, Elon Musk, it goes both ways, right? If he were to do something like this — and I don’t believe he will because he says free speech is a bedrock of democracy, so that means he's going to be neutral, he says he's ascribing to some degree of First Amendment standard, so he's not going to an overcorrect, what these leftist tech companies have done. He's broken that leftist ideological monopoly that’s comprised of these major Big Tech companies, but I don't think he’s going to do what they have done and visit those free speech privations upon conservatives, like we have seen in the past."
