CHENEY: “You know, my view was that I — first of all, I applaud those who did and I think that it’s very important. And it was — it was very important for the whole country to see on that stage, that platform, the broad range of policy perspectives and the broad range of leaders from across the country who have made the decision to put the country ahead of party. And so, for me, I wanted to make the announcement, to do it in a way that wasn’t connected to the party politics of the moment. I also happened to be in London at the Taylor Swift concert.”
