CBS’ Gayle King Praises Nice Moment Between J.D. Vance and His Mom at RNC: ‘I Felt It Sitting at Home’

‘I like any time I hear a grown man say, mom’

TRANSCRIPT:

KING: "I thought J.D. Vance -- you know, I love the book 'Hillbilly Elegy.' He's such a good writer. He painted such a -- such a very vibrant picture of his life. So for people meeting him for the first time, I thought they got quite the introduction. Now like anytime I hear a grown man say, 'Mom,' I just got to say that without a doubt, it was a nice moment between him and his mother. I liked it. Tony, thank you very much."
DOKOUPIL: "Yeah, it was beautiful in the room as well. Thank you."
KING: "I thought -- I thought so too. I felt it sitting at home."
